LUMINA: A month long festival in Providence

Lumina, a month-long light festival in Downtown Providence from Jan. 19 to Feb. 20, showcases a contemporary ice palace adorned with 25 towering prisms by Quartier des Spectacles International. Standing over 6 feet tall, each prism mesmerizes with a vivid array of colors through diachronic panels, engaging with ambient light and diverse viewer perspectives. The festival features performances, engaging programs and captivating tours from 195 District Park to Bank Newport City Center via Dorrance St. The central attraction, Prismatica by QDSI from Montreal, bathes 195 District Park in enchanting light, transforming the downtown into an imaginative playground. 

The weekend of Jan. 26 & 27 offers a variety of activities, including a light-up parade, food trucks, local beers, family-centric programs and a sauna on wheels. Le Libre Patin, a Montreal contemporary skating company performance, will have a contemporary skating dance at the Providence Rink, with a skating party to follow. What is Level99?

Dueling Pianos at the top of Pelham

See Newport’s only Dueling Pianos event at the Top of Pelham, providing the best in entertainment with views of the famous Newport Harbor.

Right above One Pelham East, the Top Of Pelham is proud to be the only venue in Newport, Rhode Island hosting a live Dueling Pianos Show! Directly across from Bowen’s Wharf on historic Thames Street, The Top provides the best in live entertainment, nationally known entertainers and a view of the world-famous Newport Harbor that speaks for itself. 

Every weekend, our stage becomes occupied by two grand pianos where two entertainers perform audience requests from every genre and era imaginable. Every show, audience members get pulled up on stage for toasts and special dedication songs, making the evening even more unforgettable! 

The live music concept is perfect for your night out in town, bachelorette celebrations, birthday parties, and even corporate outings. No matter the occasion… a good time is a guarantee!

Glow Skate

United Skates of America in Rumford Rhode Island holds a “Glow Skate” every Saturday from 6:30-9pm.

Go skating and enjoy the world famous laser skate throughout the session, games, tons of family fun, and all skaters receive a free glow stick on their way in! They have a fully stocked Cosmic Cafe full of family favorites, state-of-the-art sound systems, live DJs,  and a huge arcade with awesome prizes. They are a great place in Rhode Island for kids’ birthday parties, STEM Field Trips, fundraisers for your schools and groups, exercise, and family fun for all!

Rhode Island Restaurant Week

Enjoy two weeks of dining special offers brought to you by Providence Restaurant Weeks.

Participating area restaurants will feature deals and specials for lunch and dinner, with some offering prix fixe menus. They may also be serving up breakfast, signature cocktails, and more.

Ice Bumper Cars

The first outdoor rink to host this unique all-ages entertainment. 

Imagine sitting in the bumper car moving forwards, backward and sideways with a full 360-degree turn radius bumping opponents out of your way!

Each ride lasts 15 minutes and costs $12-$15 per person. Ice Skating is also available on the other side of the rink. Skaters may spend up to four hours on the ice and rates range from $4-$7 per person. Reservations are recommended for all ice rink activities. To create a bustling dining, recreation and entertainment hub, the rink will be outfitted with outdoor heaters, portable pavilions, lighting, outdoor furniture and sanitation supplies, to keep fun-seekers safe — and warm — all season long.
